Hiland Park

Hiland Park

In the early 2000s, Hiland Park emerged on the bustling Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, envisioned as one of Kolkata’s earliest integrated townships. Completed around 2003, this spread across more than 32 acres introduced high-rise living when such scale was rare in East Kolkata. Its layout includes nine towers with distinct names—Peak, Cape, Brook, Fjord, Bay, Glen, Isle, Ridge, and Loch—each rising gracefully up to 28 floors. Whether standard apartments or duplex penthouses, the more than 940 thoughtfully crafted residences ensured the township felt upscale without being exclusive.

Beyond housing, Hiland Park offered a lifestyle ecosystem. Metropolis Mall, spanning 175,000 sq ft, became a retail landmark, while The County social club became a neighborhood hub. Residents could enjoy shopping, dining, and recreation without stepping off the Bypass. The development reflected a bold new model of live–work–play that influenced many future projects.

Family-friendly convenience was in the planning DNA. Well-connected roadways, vibrant open spaces, and communal facilities made daily life comfortable and sociable. The layout anticipated the needs of modern residents, blending vertical living with shared leisure. Despite the project’s scale, design cues ensured it didn’t feel imposing—each tower was integrated with green spaces and socially oriented zones.

Over time, Hiland Park reshaped perceptions of township living in Kolkata, setting a standard for large-scale, amenity-rich developments. It demonstrated that high-density housing could coexist with quality of life. Today, its towers still proudly punctuate the EM Bypass skyline, serving as both homes and urban landmarks.

Even as newer townships rise, Hiland Park maintains fond resonance among longtime residents—today’s professionals recall childhood plays in its gardens or movie nights at the mall. It doesn’t just remain a residential address—it’s a memory generator.

Now, as newer players emerge, Hiland Park’s legacy persists. Its successful urban integration, year-round vibrancy, and seamless balance of community and convenience paved the way for later townships like Uniworld City and Calcutta Riverside.

Ultimately, Hiland Park exemplifies how careful planning, amenities, and community spirit can shape meaningful urban living—its influence still evident across how Kolkata builds homes for its people.
